I grew up in a home with a hand quilter. Her giant expanses of blanket were held up by quilt sticks, making tents of colorful triangles and squares. She sometimes worked through stitches in tight wooden circles in her lap. In my work, I feel like a quilter using a brush and paint instead of needle and thread. I honor the quilting tradition’s precision and vibrance with my designs.
Work done in acrylic on canvas.
